A Returns Flow Built to Recover Margin
Returns are not an afterthought here. They get the same process, the same scans, and the same reporting as your outbound orders.
Returns From Every Channel
Consumer returns, retailer returns, and unsold seasonal stock all come back through one process.
Ecommerce and DTC Returns
Consumer returns from your Shopify store, marketplaces, and direct orders are logged, inspected, and dispositioned so sellable units are ready to ship again.
Retail and Wholesale Returns
Store and distribution center returns are sorted by retailer specific reasons and disposition, so you know what came back, why, and what it is worth.
Seasonal and Unsold Inventory
End of collection, post tour, and unsold seasonal stock comes back in, gets counted and graded, and is stored until you decide to resell, bundle, or liquidate it.
Returns Are Real Work Here, Not a Side Job
Most outbound warehouses treat returns as a thorn in their side. At G&B, returns get their own process, their own crews, and their own reporting.
From 10 Days to 48 Hours
Brands that moved their returns to G&B went from a 10 day backlog to returns done in 48 hours, or in a day when they need it.
Labor That Flexes
Our team flexes to about 100 people by season, and crews move onto returns when volume spikes, so you never staff for peak yourself.
Open Book Pricing
We price from your data, not a rate card. We show you our assumptions for every step, and you tell us where we are too fast or too slow.

How a Return Moves Through Our Dock
Returns come into our 320,000 square foot Woodland warehouse in Northern California. From there, every unit follows the same four steps.
- ✓Receive. The return is logged as soon as it arrives.
- ✓Inspect. Each item is checked for condition and photographed if needed.
- ✓Disposition. Resellable units are restocked. Everything else is refurbished, held, or disposed of per your rules.
- ✓Report. The result shows up in your dashboard next to your outbound orders.
Returns Rules That Fit Your Products
A returned t-shirt, a returned board game, and a returned skincare set should not be graded the same way. You tell us the process you want, we price it, and we follow it on every unit.
- ✓Apparel and merch. Sorted by size, color, and condition. Unsold event and tour stock is checked and sent back to stock, or re-bagged, re-boxed, or re-polybagged first.
- ✓Toys and games. Checked for missing pieces and damaged packaging before anything goes back to stock.
- ✓Retail returns. Tracked against retailer specific reasons so you can spot problems early.

See Every Return in Real Time
Returns data feeds the same dashboard as your outbound orders, so your inventory picture is always current. Your portal flags exceptions like returns and retailer chargebacks as they happen.
Every brand also gets a monthly performance report covering returns volume, order accuracy, on-time ship rate, and SKU velocity, so you can see which products come back most and why.
Returns Processing FAQs
FAQ
How fast does G&B Fulfillment process returns?
Our standard is 48 hours, and we can turn returns in a day when you need it. Brands that moved their returns to G&B went from a 10 day backlog to 48 hours, so resellable inventory is back in stock quickly.
What happens to a returned item?
Returns are inspected, photographed if needed, restocked if resellable, or marked for disposition per your brand rules. Items can be restocked, refurbished, or disposed of, and every step is recorded in a full audit trail.
Which warehouse do returns go to?
Returns programs run out of our 320,000 square foot Woodland warehouse in Woodland, CA, near Sacramento.
Can I see my returns data?
Yes. Returns data feeds the same dashboard as your outbound orders, so you see the full inventory picture in real time. Your portal also sends exception alerts, and your monthly performance report includes returns volume.
Do you handle retail returns as well as ecommerce returns?
Yes. We process consumer returns from ecommerce and marketplace orders, returns from retailers and wholesale accounts with retailer specific reasons and disposition, and unsold seasonal or end of collection inventory.
Can G&B handle only our returns while another warehouse ships our orders?
Yes. Some brands send only their returns to G&B Fulfillment while orders ship from somewhere else. Talk to our team about a returns only program and we will tell you how we would set it up.
How do you price returns processing?
We price from your data, not a standard rate card. We model your volume, item mix, and handling steps, then show you our assumptions for how long each step takes. You can tell us where we are too fast or too slow, and we adjust the model with you.
Can you take over our existing returns equipment?
Yes. If you already have returns equipment such as conveyors and workstations, we can bring it into our operation. Equipment arrangements usually come with a longer term agreement.
