Ecommerce fulfillment FAQs
Ecommerce fulfillment FAQ
What is ecommerce order fulfillment?
Ecommerce order fulfillment is the end-to-end process of receiving inventory from a brand, storing it in a warehouse, then picking, packing, and shipping individual orders as they come in through online channels: Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, retailer marketplaces, and direct websites. G&B Fulfillment handles all of this from two California warehouses (Woodland and Victorville), including returns processing.
How much does ecommerce fulfillment cost?
Costs depend on storage volume, order count, SKU complexity, and shipping zones. Typical 3PL pricing includes receiving fees, storage, pick fees, and packaging. G&B Fulfillment uses flexible rate structures, so you pay for what you use, and provides quotes after a discovery call. Most volume brands see meaningfully lower per order costs than running their own warehouse once order volume is consistent.
How long does onboarding take?
Standard onboarding takes 2 to 4 weeks: discovery and SKU review in week 1, inventory transfer and system integration in weeks 2 and 3, and parallel-run validation in week 4. Brands transferring from another 3PL with clean SKU data can sometimes onboard in 10 days.
Do you integrate with Shopify, Amazon, and other platforms?
Yes. G&B Fulfillment's WMS connects via API to Shopify, Shopify Plus, Amazon Seller Central (FBM), WooCommerce, BigCommerce, NetSuite, and most ERP and OMS systems. Custom integrations are available for retailer EDI.
Can you handle Amazon FBM and FBA prep?
Yes. We ship directly to consumers under Amazon's Fulfilled by Merchant program and also prep, label, and ship inbound shipments to Amazon FBA warehouses. FBA prep includes polybagging, labeling, bundling, and case-pack compliance per Amazon's current requirements.
How do returns work?
Brands route returns to either the Woodland or Victorville warehouse. Returns are inspected, photographed if needed, restocked if resellable, or marked for disposition per brand rules. Returns data feeds the same dashboard as outbound orders, so brands see the full inventory picture in real time.
