The material handler is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping and receiving of product to meet company standards of safety, security, sanitation and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner
- Move product to storage area with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate areas
- Pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped
- Process orders, which includes picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing, loading and confirming shipment of customer orders
- Operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner as required
- Check and verify freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation
- Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
- Conduct operations in a manner promoting safety
- Conduct sanitation functions as requested

- Must be able to work in varying facility conditions
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Assists in physical inventories, as needed
